Meet Dr Stella Mahaga, PMHNP-BC

Stella is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who began her career as a Registered Nurse, accumulating 12 years of experience in both hospital and community settings. Her time in these environments ignited her interest in mental health, particularly in addressing ongoing disparities and access challenges.

She earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a specialization in Psychiatry from Alverno College and holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Cardinal Stritch University. Currently, Stella provides comprehensive services, including diagnostic testing, medication evaluation and management, individual psychotherapy, and behavioral health support. She is trained to work with all age groups, with a particular focus on Child-Adolescent Psychiatry, reflecting her strong passion for this demographic.

Stella believes in employing holistic, evidence-based approaches to deliver effective and compassionate care, aiming to optimize health outcomes for patients facing mental health challenges. She emphasizes the importance of family and spiritual inclusion as vital components of overall wellness, successful treatment, and healing.

Outside of her professional commitments, Stella enjoys traveling, photography, and spending quality time with her children.
