Meet Pedro

Pedro is a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) in Washington State who provides therapy in both English and Spanish. With nearly a decade of experience, he supports adults navigating trauma, challenging life transitions, and a wide range of mental health concerns. He earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, with a focus on Object Relations and Relational Psychoanalysis, from Universidad del Norte in Barranquilla, Colombia. Pedro has worked in diverse community mental health and private practice settings, supporting individuals from many different backgrounds in his hometown of Medellín, Colombia. After moving to the United States in 2022, he provided therapy in Oak Harbor and Lynnwood, Washington, and later served as Program Director for the New Journeys First Episode of Psychosis program in Snohomish County. He is now fully dedicated to Prisma Wellness, supporting all clients in need of therapy. His approach to therapy emphasizes exploring both conscious and unconscious patterns, tailoring care to meet each person’s unique needs. Pedro believes therapy is most effective when it is thoughtfully personalized, honoring each individual’s story rather than applying a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Pedro also supports Prisma Wellness’s mission of teaching and learning by providing supervision to associate therapists, helping them build confidence, refine their professional voice, and bring empathy and insight from their own experiences into their work. He specializes in supporting clients experiencing trauma, depression, anxiety, and life transitions, and is committed to fostering self-growth and self-discovery, guiding each person to recognize their resilience and build a meaningful, balanced life.

A Message From Pedro:

“Starting therapy can feel intimidating, and I want you to know that I’m here to support you as you navigate your life’s changes and transitions. I believe therapy is a space where you can feel safe to explore, reflect, and grow at your own pace. Psychoanalysis has been a passion of mine since my early years as a student because it focuses on understanding a person at the deepest level—honoring your core developmental needs while helping you connect more fully with your authentic self. For me, therapy is a collaborative process: together, we explore your story, your strengths, and the challenges you face, and work toward creating meaning that feels true for you. I know that life transitions and mental health experiences are never “one-size-fits-all.” Each person experiences diagnoses, challenges, and growth differently, and these individual differences are an essential part of who you are. I also believe in the power of words and the role of personal drive and desire, and how both are shaped by your unique history and experiences. I approach mental health from a holistic perspective, understanding wellness as an integration of your physical, emotional, and social well-being. My goal is to help you cultivate a healthy mind within a healthy body in a way that feels meaningful, sustainable, and authentic to your life. Above all, I hope to create a space where you feel heard, supported, and empowered as you take each step on your journey toward balance, resilience, and well-being.”
